Music Monday: The Doggett Brothers

TDB_Font and inside It’s Monday again and that means that it’s one of my favourite posts, Music Monday. I love to include music from small up and coming bands that I know or that from my area and The Doggett Brothers are all of these. With influences such as Prince, Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind and Fire and much more, this Norfolk based duo really make you tap your foot. The Doggett Brothers won The 2015 East Anglian Music Award and featured a spot on BBC Introducing last year and I’m sure they’re tipped for big things in the future. They brought out their album Colours early last year, the follow up to their debut Daylight. It’s a collection of catchy tunes with funky soul rhythms at the heart of it and they’ll often have guest singers such as Laura Jackson, Kenny Thomas and Dominic Uppiah. Each have amazing voices and that really bring an added extra to each track. The song that I’ve chosen is called Lover and it’s a great one.  It has a funky R and B style that the brothers have always been obsessed with and the video is a mixture of live performance and a little bit of behind the scenes action. Let me know what you think in the comments below. Happy Monday!
