Wednesday Autumnal Wishlist!
Autumn is that transitional time of year when the lighter layers and the boots come out and it’s one of my favourite times of year. I mean who doesn’t love Halloween and Fireworks night. I thought I would gather together a few of my favourite bits in the shops right now to show you.
Chanel – City Lights Palette
First up is this beautiful Limited Edition Chanel City Lights Palette . Four pretty Autumnal colours, there’s a natural pink to illuminate, an auburn toned brown, a grey toned brown both to blend over the eye and a deep brown to add depth. They’re all different textures matte, satin, iridescent and metallic. They make for a really gorgeous look and it’s one that everyone should go and test out.
Mint Velvet – Rose Gold Metallic Ombre Knit
I must really be really loving this metallic trend because this is the second item in this Wishlist. This Rose Gold Metallic Ombre Knit from Mint Velvet is a really pretty colour with a fab warm knit. I’m loving the ribbed effect as the style really reminds me of a Victoria Beckham jumper that has been all over Instagram. It’s also in the sale so I might just rush out and buy it now.
H and M – Monkey Patterned Skirt
I love my basics but occasionally I love a beautiful item to change up my wardrobe a little and this gorgeous monkey patterned skirt from H and M is that item. It’s super neutral and would be fab with a neutral jumper and heels or boots. I love it!
New Look – Black Floral Print Pocket Front Midi Shirt Dress
At this time of year I love wearing tea dresses and shirt dresses with a little warm jacket or a jumper. This gorgeous black floral print pocket front midi shirt dress from New Look is a perfect dress to do that with. It would be so pretty with a high sock boot, which is so on trend right now.
Office – Logan Point Chelsea Boots
Lastly I’ve chosen these Logan Point Chelsea Boots from Office . I live in a heeled chelsea boot in the Autumn. They’re so flattering on the legs, and they really do go with everything. You could wear these with a dress and tights or with a pair of jeans and the wide heel is also great if it gets a little frosty too. This particular pair are also currently in the sale. Bargain!
What items have you been picking up now the weather has got a little colder, and will you be picking up any of these items? Let me know in the comments below or on twitter.
Regular readers will know I’ve been a long time admirer of Chanel. They’re a really interesting company and I Iove their makeup and skincare products – they’re quite expensive but they’re worth it. I’m always on the lookout for new products, so when I came across Blue Serum from their S/S17 skincare range, I just had to write a review.
Blue Serum is no ordinary product, it’s next generation skincare with a body of research behind it.
The product takes its name from the world’s blue zones – areas where researchers have found that people have measurably longer, healthier and happier lives due factors such as diet, level of exercise and social life. There are seven blue zones in the world in total, and Chanel have taken ingredients native to three of them to create Blue Serum.
The first blue zone ingredient is green coffee from Costa Rica, which is known for it’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The second is olive extract from Sardinia, which is renowned for polyphenols and fatty acids which are great for protecting and strengthening skin. The third blue zone ingredient is from the lentisk, an evergreen tree found in the Greek island Icaria, which is high in oleanolic acid and known for it’s regeneration abilities. Chanel claims that with these ingredients and their history of high quality products, Blue Serum is not only a different approach to anti-aging but ‘a new horizon for skincare’.
The product itself doesn’t have a heavy scent, it just smells light and natural. It’s made for every day use, and I’ve been putting it on in the morning and evening, and I found it to be quite long lasting. I’ve only been using it for a short time but I’ve already noticed a difference where my skin feels softer, and it’s particularly made a difference where I’d previously had some dry skin due to the cold weather.
That said, Blue Serum isn’t a magic product that’s going to make you live longer and become happier, but when used along side your current skin care regime with healthy does of good food and regular exercise that’s when it will really begin to shine!
Chanel’s blue serum is available at your nearest Chanel counter and it £81. I highly recommend testing out this beauty!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette
I bought this at a recent blogger event with Really Ree and I’ve loved using it every since I bought it. I use mainly two of the powders, dim light which is a really subtle that gives a light colour but mainly makes your skin look incredible. The other powder that I’ve been using a lot is Incandescent light, a shade that is very much a highlighter and it’s gorgeous.
Jo Malone Blue Agave and Cacao Fragrance
My holiday in Mexico seems like so long ago now, it’s actually only 5 weeks ago that we got back. This fragrance brings back so many memories even though I only picked it up on the plane home. I’ve actually mention this fragrance to the lovely ladies in Jo Malone and they’ve said that it’s now been discontinued which is such a shame as it’s gorgeous. If you can get your hands on any still left in the shop, I’d buy as much as possible.
Sunkissed Bronze Professional Self -Tan Mousse
I came back to work with this self tan sitting on my desk and although I waited a little while before using it, (I was in denial about my tan fading). I now use this around once a week and it really does the job of topping up the colour and giving you a healthy glow. If you haven’t tried this, you really should.
Clarins Mascara Supra Volume
I’ve been using this mascara ever since I was sent this from Clarins and I really love it. My lashes look amazing when I’ve used it as they are just so long and have such a lot of volume. You have to give this a go if you haven’t already.
Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 08 Plum Shimmer
The Clarins Instat Natural lip perfectors are one of the gems of Clarins. They are gorgeous and and they have a great colour pay off. Plum is is a really deep berry colour and it really makes me feel like I’ve made an effort when I wear it.
Chanel Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Colour – 104 Amoureux
The Chanel Rouge Allure Ink Matte Lip colour in Amoureux is a beautiful pink nude. I love to wear this for everyday looks and although I like a matte lip products, i also love to add a little gloss to the centre of the bottom lip for a more friendly feel. It a combination that I’ve been wearing all month long and I can’t wait to wear it more.
Blistex Relief Creme
The weather change has meant that my lips have really begun to suffer so Blistex has been a bit of a saviour this month. I love this product even though I’m not keen the application of this product just I don’t like to get my hands into my products. I can overlook this when it sorts out my badly chapped lips so quickly and keeps them feeling silky smooth every time I wear it.
What have you been loving this month and do you love any of these products? Let me know in the comments below or on twitter.
