February was definately an interesting month. Just when we thought Spring was on it’s way, back came the cold and snow which meant that I used a lot of products to combat weathered skin that needed a little more TLC.
I’ve spoken about this product lots before but this L’Occitane hand cream is a god send. It’s really thick and creamy product that doesn’t leave a residue but it does leave your hands feeling hydrated, moisturised and so so soft. It’s a great price and this packaging from the Limited Edition Rifle Paper Co. is super cute. If you haven’t got it already, go try it.
I love Bees, as you might know my surname means bee friend in Lativian so I was ultra happy when my husband gave me these gorgeous Olivia Burton earrings for Valentine’s day. They’re so dainty and they pretty much go with my bee necklace from Alex Monroe too. They’re a pair of earrings that I’ve been gravitated towards a lot this month.
Staying on the skincare trail, I’ve been loving this Hibiscus and Coconut Water body butter from Being by Sanctuary. It’s so moisturising and smells amazing. I’m addicted to it and I love using it everywhere in the morning after my shower and in the evening as I’m getting ready for bed.
Mascara is something that I’ve been switching up a bit recently and actually I’ve been using two. The first is the Tanya Burr Selfie Lash mascara. It’s super defining and lengthening for an almost natural look but better. It does a great job for getting you ready to take the perfect selfie. I get no fall down and it looks amazing all day.
The second mascara is the Benefit BadGal Bang Mascara. There was so much hype about this product and many people were disappointed it was just a mascara when it was finally revealed. This product really works though. It’s a definite going out look that you get but I love this chunky yet defined long lashes and they last all day. The only thing I would be careful of is that I often get drop down throughout the day. To combat this, I just use this on the top lashes and then I use a different one such as the Tanya Burr Selfie Lash on the lower lash. It’s definitely one to try out though!
Last but not least is the Clarins Limited Edition Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in the pink shimmer. This also comes in a duo with a Orange Shimmer which I love. I’ve particularly loved using this colour recently though as it’s a little more pinkier. The Instant Lip Perfecters are some of my favourite products as they’re so easy to use and they bring an every day look together quickly. This colour is perfect for Spring and it really is pretty! If you haven’t tried these Clarins products before, there are plenty of colours so go and sample them.

Clarins is a company that keep up with trend but that don’t scrimp on style and substance and they still manage to keep their products affordable. A new release from Clarins makes me excited for what’s to come and to try their new products so when this new Graphic Collection for Autumn/Winter dropped through my door I had to sit and try everything out straight away. Here are just a few of the products from the collection that I’ve been loving.
4-Colour Eye Shadow Palette in Forest
The eye shadow palette is beautiful with the reflective outer packaging. It’s full of different shades of greens which work well for both green eyes and brown. The pigmentation is really great too, especially if you build the colour up with a flat packing brush. I especially love the deep colour on the end. With a black graphik eyeliner lining the eye, it looks amazing.
Iridescent Shadow in Midnight Blue
The most stand out colour in this collection for me and the product I was most excited to try out is the Ombre Matte eyeshadow in Midnight blue. The packing on this individual eye shadow is gorgeous with the rose gold lid and the heavy glass container. The pay off on the actual product is great, I love smudging it out on the lower lash line for a sophisticated look. You can also pack this colour on the lid for a more intense look. So amazing especially on blue eyes and it’s one that I’ll keep on going back to again and again.
Graphik Ink Eye Liner
I’ve really enjoyed using the Graphic Ink eye liner pen from this collection. Eye liners can be really difficult to use but the pens are some what easier. One of my favourites is the soap and glory pen and this reminds me of that but it’s a little harder and easer to use. There is a little bit of movement to it and this makes it easy to use, to get a good thin line and to build it up if needed. The colour looks intense and dries down quickly. It’s also really long wearing but even better than that is that it’s easy to remove too.
Lip Definer in Roseberry
Last but by no means least is the lip liner. I’ve been wearing this in Roseberry lip definer but this comes in 4 other colours, nude fair, nude beige, nude mocha and red. It’s infused with jojoba oil which makes it easy to go on but it can bleed a little. I do find that layering this product after blotting helps with this though. I do mostly love this colour on it’s own with a little lip balm over the top.
Overall the collection is really pretty and I’ve really loved wearing it. Have you been loving the Graphik Collection from Clarins and if so what products have you been wearing? Let me know over on Twitter or in the comments below.
It’s quite far through May now but there were so many products that I’ve loved in April so I thought that I would gather up my favourites and go through them so here they are.
First up in my gorgeous mini black Michael Kors bag. It’s small but it’s come in handy so much and I’ve found that I reach for it again and again. It fits a few cards, a bit of cash, a lippie or two, a tiny fragrance and my phone. Perfect!
This month has been a big one for skin care for me and I have three products so next up is the first of these products, Pixi Glow Tonic. I was a little unsure about using this product as I haven’t used products with Glycolic acid much and my skin is really sensitive but I was happily surprised by this. Bloggers have long raved about this product and I can see why. Used after cleansing, it brightens, tones and conditions your skin and you can see the results straight away. My skin is also so soft when I’ve used this product and I always get comments on my skin which is definitely a bonus.
Next up is a product from Clarins – Skin Illusion Blush in the colour Luminous Pink. It’s a limited Edition so it may be difficult to get hold of. It’s a beautiful blush, the bush pad is inside with the product itself in the lid and theres also a mirror on the outside of the product too. I’ve been using this for the last month or so and it’s beautiful for the Spring/Summer season. I always blend it in with a separate blush brush and it works so well.
Next up is the Aveda Botanical kinetics energising eye cream. It’s a light product that you use sparingly around the orbital bone. Dot on and then lightly massage the product in day and night and it helps with those pesky dark circles. I suffer with this quite a lot especially after a few late nights and it’s really help fight them off. Definitely a product I’ll be repurchasing too.
My final product for skin care is the Clarins Hydra – Essential moisturiser. It’s a beautiful day cream that helps with dehydrated skin which mine definitely is. It helps keep the skin capacity to retain water, and it really does leave it looking radiant, smooth and fresh looking. I’m excited to use more of the products in this range this month too.
Next up is a beautiful hand cream from Neom. I’ve been reviewing the product for the Really Ree site and I’ve really loved using it. It’s in the fragrance Make You Happy which is a scent that instantly makes you feel energised and happy. It nourishes and hydrates your hands but if you take a few deep breaths of the product, it’s uplifting. I’ve found that it’s really helped with stress and anxiety and it’s another one that I’ll be repurchasing in the next few weeks for sure.
Lastly is this beautiful nail polish from Leighton Denny in the colour, Whatever. It’s a beautiful purple/nude colour that seems to go with everything and really does last too. It’s one I keep going back to again and again and it’s sure to be for a long time too.
Will you be trying out any of these products and what have you been loving the month, let me know in the comments below.
I have mad days, filled with a 9-5 job, the gym and then I blog till late in the evening. It’s a labour of love that does sometimes leave me a little tired from burning the candle at both ends – so I was glad when Clarins sent me their new Multi-Active eye cream. I wanted to test out whether it would help with the dark circles around my eyes after a tough week and puffiness that I often suffer from especially in the mornings, and shhh don’t tell anyone but maybe even banish some of those wrinkles that have started to rear their ugly head too.
The Clarins Multi-Active eye cream is for all skin types but is especially for the 30 somethings that are starting to show the first subtle signs of ageing – it happens to all of us! This product won’t actually make you younger, but it will hide any evidence of you working a bit longer than you should be and enjoying the weekends as much as you do without getting the proper R&R that your body deserves. The main ingredients are teasel and horse chestnut extract, which give it a smooth texture and get to work on wrinkles and tired skin.
I’ve been using this product regularly over the last month and I honestly noticed a subtle difference after a couple of uses, my eyes looked brighter and more radiant. The metal tip was cooling which helped reduce the appearance of those pesky eye bags and the few wrinkles that I have were less noticeable too. I still used concealer under my eyes a little after allowing the eye cream to settle. When applying these products, I found my make up sat a little better on the skin and actually helped it last a little longer too. With prolonged use I’ve found that it does help reduce the puffy appearance of the eye area and helps you look more awake. It’s safe to say that I’ll be repurchasing, although nothing really does beat a couple of good nights sleep.
You can get the Clarins Multi- active eye cream from your nearest Clarins counter for £35.

If you’ve followed my blog for a while you’ll know that Clarins are one of my favourite brands. Their products are always so good and I’m always excited to try out their new release so when they sent me their new Skin Detox Fluid BB cream, I knew I would be in for a treat.
I’m not normally one to wear a foundation. I usually go for a light concealer that covers my under eye area and any blemishes that need to be covered. I leave the rest of my skin to breath so I was interested and a little apprehensive to start using this product. It’s not strictly a foundation but it has great coverage and feel so light on the skin too. It doesn’t feel like I’m wearing any products on my face at all so I was pleasantly surprised by it and I’ve warn it every day since the company sent it to me.
The Clarins BB Skin Detox Fluid is a light to medium coverage and it’s really build-able and is very easy to use. It blends really well especially if you use a good brush or even just your fingers to work it into the skin and it really goes well with a concealer too. It leaves you looking like you have a healthy glow. It does have a slight scent to it but it’s not something that’s over powering and you can’t smell it once it’s settled into the skin.
I’m unsure as to why it’s called a detox fluid but it does have SPF 25 included which is great for protecting your skin especially if you’re spending a lot of time outside. Overall I love this product and it’ll be one that I will be repurchasing.
The BB Skin Detox Fluid is available at your nearest Clarins stand and is around £30. Do go and check this out as it really is a gem of a product.
Clarins website for £36 and from the usual suspects such as Debenhams, House of Fraser and Feel Unique. Have you tried this palette out for size? Tweet me and let me know. Happy contouring! *this post is sponsored by Clarins, who I write about because I love and use their products!
At the beginning of the month I had an appointment at my local Aveda where they looked at my hair and scalp and gave me some advice on my hair. They suggested that I started using this balancing shampoo. I’ve been using it ever since and it’s really helped with my scalp, the sensitivity of the skin and the look on my hair. It’s looking fab. I was suggested some other products too so I’m looking forward to going back and buying soon. I’m not someone that usually wears a very heavy base/foundation so I like to stick to light coverage product. This BB Skin Detox Fluid from Clarins is one that I’ve been using for the full month. I only use a small amount, just two to three pumps, it lasts all day and looks amazing. It also as an SPF 25 in too. Mega bonus! I’ll be doing more of a review in the coming weeks so keep an eye out on the site. I bought this lipstick/lipshine is from the Rosie for Autograph ( Marks and Spencers)line. I bought it just after Christmas and I fell in love with the name of it initially as it’s called Love of my life which very apt for the time of year. When I looked at the colour I fell for it even harder and realised that I just had to buy it and I’ve worn it every day since. It’s lovely layered over the Chanel Rouge Allure Ink in Amoureux and it really lasts. My most favourite thing about it is that the lipstick itself is so moisturising even when you have chapped lips which I have this week due to being ill, it helps lock in that moisture and soften them. I was sent some beautiful hand creams from Crabtree and Evelyn. I love the hand creams as they’re thick and so moisturising. My favourite of the month is this Pear and Pink Magnolia ultra moisturising hand therapy as it has such a pretty yet subtle smell. It’s also been great for my hands and nails which have been in some need of a little TLC. I bought this Armani scent Si in the January sales and I’m so glad that I did. It really is a beautiful fragrance and it’s one that I’ve been wearing a loth throughout the month too. It’s perfect for the time of year, subtle yet fruity and it has floral notes to it. It’s one that you have to smell if you see it for sure. I seem to be allergic to every hand wash ever except this brand Bayliss and Harding. They recently brought out this limited edition fragrance in Pink Prosecco and Cassis to my local Sainsbury’s and I’ve loved using it the whole month. The bottle itself with the rose gold accents is beautiful too. I’ve also loved the combination of the leopard print snood that I received for Christmas and this beautiful burgundy jumper from Miss Selfridge. It’s a warming combination thats also very soft and it’s made me feel extra snuggly when under the weather this month too. What things have you been loving this month and will you be jumping to buy any of these items? Let me know in the comments below. Happy Shopping!
October FavouritesHourglass Ambient Lighting palette I bought this at a recent blogger event with Really Ree and I’ve loved using it every since I bought it. I use mainly two of the powders, dim light which is a really subtle that gives a light colour but mainly makes your skin look incredible. The other powder that I’ve been using a lot is Incandescent light, a shade that is very much a highlighter and it’s gorgeous. Jo Malone Blue Agave and Cacao Fragrance My holiday in Mexico seems like so long ago now, it’s actually only 5 weeks ago that we got back. This fragrance brings back so many memories even though I only picked it up on the plane home. I’ve actually mention this fragrance to the lovely ladies in Jo Malone and they’ve said that it’s now been discontinued which is such a shame as it’s gorgeous. If you can get your hands on any still left in the shop, I’d buy as much as possible. Sunkissed Bronze Professional Self -Tan Mousse I came back to work with this self tan sitting on my desk and although I waited a little while before using it, (I was in denial about my tan fading). I now use this around once a week and it really does the job of topping up the colour and giving you a healthy glow. If you haven’t tried this, you really should. Clarins Mascara Supra Volume I’ve been using this mascara ever since I was sent this from Clarins and I really love it. My lashes look amazing when I’ve used it as they are just so long and have such a lot of volume. You have to give this a go if you haven’t already. Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 08 Plum Shimmer The Clarins Instat Natural lip perfectors are one of the gems of Clarins. They are gorgeous and and they have a great colour pay off. Plum is is a really deep berry colour and it really makes me feel like I’ve made an effort when I wear it. Chanel Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Colour – 104 Amoureux The Chanel Rouge Allure Ink Matte Lip colour in Amoureux is a beautiful pink nude. I love to wear this for everyday looks and although I like a matte lip products, i also love to add a little gloss to the centre of the bottom lip for a more friendly feel. It a combination that I’ve been wearing all month long and I can’t wait to wear it more. Blistex Relief Creme The weather change has meant that my lips have really begun to suffer so Blistex has been a bit of a saviour this month. I love this product even though I’m not keen the application of this product just I don’t like to get my hands into my products. I can overlook this when it sorts out my badly chapped lips so quickly and keeps them feeling silky smooth every time I wear it. Clarins Autumn/Winter collection and I for one am loving everything about it. With skin products that give a flawless complexion, mascara that gives large doe-eyed look and a choice of four beautiful eye palettes. It’s all I’ve been wearing so lets go into a little more detail as to why. The Supra Volume mascara is a really cool product. It glides on really easily, creates a lot of volume with full eye lashes too and the colour is ultra dark which I love. It’s not very build able so you wouldn’t want to keep counting your lashes but it is really easy to remove. This is definitely a winner Clarins and a product I’ve enjoyed using. The BB skin detox fluid is gorgeous. It’s not overly shiny but the skin still feels well moisturised. If you’re someone that likes a light coverage then this BB fluid is going to perfect for you. It also lasts all day especially with a light covering of translucent powder. They also have SPF 25 which is a bonus for staying out in the sun. Clarins has four palettes in their current Autumn/Winter collection , the nude (01), Rosewood (02), Brown (03) and Oud (04) which is exclusive to Harrods and Selfridges only). These palettes are gorgeous. They come in these beautiful red pouches. Each have four pretty colours in and I have the Nude (bottom palette in the picture) and the brown palettes. The colours glide on, blend beautifully and look amazing on. I have been using the nude palette non stop with just the middle two colours for a pretty day look for the office. I’ve also smoked it out a little more using all the colours. Let me know what products that you have or that you are loving from Clarins in the comments below. Do you love these pieces as much as me? For my birthday, my sister-in-law bought me the coolest black and gold personalised wash/make up bag. She bought it from the Tillyanna at Not on the High Street. It’s such a simple yet brilliant pressie and I’m sure it will feature on the site a lot more to come. Inside my beautiful make up bag is the Mac Pro Long wear Waterproof colour stick in Copperpot. I’m a big fan of waterproof eye shadow and this one is a great. It’s very long wearing as the name suggests and it’s also a great colour. I’ve been wearing it non stop with a little dark brown in the corners. It’s a simple look that I love. I received this Clarins Supra volume Mascara and I’ve been loving this so much this month too. When it says that it volumes it really does what it says on the packaging. Oh the gold packaging is classy and so sophisticated. The product itself volumises, lengthens and makes your lashes look amazing and not spider like. Perfect! I had a spot break out on my forehead over the last few months and so I was recommended 7 day scrub rinse off formula from Clinique. Its a formula that you can use day and night for sensitive skin and it’s definitely helped the affected area. This month I’ve just finished up using the Neal’s Yard Nurturing Rose Shampoo. It’s a really beautiful shampoo that smells amazing. It makes your hair feel great too and it feels light and fresh. It’s one I’ve really enjoyed using and I’m a little sad is finished. I’ve always struggled a little when doing eye liner so when this Grandiose Eyeliner from Lancome with movable arm on the lid was released just a few weeks ago, I just had to give this a try. You can get a really thin line and it’s great to get a good flick too. I’ve been loving using it. One of my best friends gave me some Number 7 make up and the stand out product that I’ve been loving is this great deep purple eye liner pencil. The colour is gorgeous, dark but softer than black and it also has a smudger on the other end too. What products have you been loving this month and have you tried any of the products that I choose this month? Let me know in the comments below. Happy shopping!
