June Favourites 2017

Monthly favourites are some of the best blog posts to write mainly because I get to talk about my most loved products that I’ve been using, rediscovering and enjoyed using through out that month. This month there’s only been a few products but I think there’s a great selection.
I recently went to Ibiza for my birthday with my husband. It was beautifully hot and the island is gorgeous so when I saw this picture on a painters stall I just had to have it to bring home and as it reminded me of our time there and how much I want to go back.
First up product wise is the Chanel correcteur perfection – this concealer is gorgeous. It lasts a long time, it blends incredibly and it sits on your skin like a silky veil. It mixes well with other products and concealers too. I currently have a little bit of a tan so I’ve been mixing it with my Mac Pro Longwear concealer as that’s a little darker. I will always keep coming back to this one as it’s one of those products you just don’t forget.
Yves Saint Lauren Glow Shot is an intense liquid highlighter and it’s perfect for the hot Summer days. They have three tones but I’ve been enjoying using the colour sunrise. It’s a pink highlighter that gives an amazing glow. It’s subtle yet beautiful.
Charlotte Tilbury products are so gorgeous, especially the Uptown Girl palette that I received from my husband for my birthday recently. It’s ultra luxe with 4 very pigmented colours. Perfect for the hotter weather if you want that subtle smoky day look that you can build on for the evening teamed with a little lippie in pillow talk.  All the colours have a little bit of sparkle in them especially the pink and they really do last. I can see that this palette will be a keeper and it’s made me want to buy more of the Charlotte Tilbury products.
The Clinique Moisture Surge – Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate looks like it might just be a  little bit of a gimmick but when I started using this I released it was anything but. I have really dehydrated skin that needs moisturizing products. I’ve been using the Clarins hydrate day/night moisture creams and using these in combination have really done wonders. After cleansing, I pop a thin layer of the concentrate all over my face and leave it to sink in before putting on my moisturiser. It then gives a great base for make up.
Last but not least is this stunning primer from The Ordinary. I recently went to a fab event with Deciem and Really Ree and there was plenty of raving about this product . The High – Adherence Silocone Primer smoothes, hydrates and blurs using advanced adapting silicones. It’s a great base that makes concealers, foundations etc look amazing. Use a really thin layer to get the best results.

July Favourites!

IMG_3873 For my birthday, my sister-in-law bought me the coolest black and gold personalised wash/make up bag. She bought it from the Tillyanna at Not on the High Street. It’s such a simple yet brilliant pressie and I’m sure it will feature on the site a lot more to come. IMG_3880 Inside my beautiful make up bag is the Mac Pro Long wear Waterproof colour stick in Copperpot. I’m a big fan of waterproof eye shadow and this one is a great. It’s very long wearing as the name suggests and it’s also a great colour. I’ve been wearing it non stop with a little dark brown in the corners. It’s a simple look that  I love. IMG_3894 IMG_3895 I received this Clarins Supra volume Mascara and I’ve been loving this so much this month too. When it says that it volumes it really does what it says on the packaging. Oh the gold packaging is classy and so sophisticated.  The product itself volumises, lengthens and makes your lashes look amazing and not spider like. Perfect! IMG_3891I had a spot break out on my forehead over the last few months and so I was recommended 7 day scrub rinse off formula from Clinique. Its a formula that you can use day and night for sensitive skin and it’s definitely helped the affected area. IMG_3883 This month I’ve just finished up using the Neal’s Yard Nurturing Rose Shampoo. It’s a really beautiful shampoo that smells amazing. It makes your hair feel great too and it feels light and fresh. It’s one I’ve really enjoyed using and I’m a little sad is finished. IMG_3887 I’ve always struggled a little when doing eye liner so when this Grandiose Eyeliner from Lancome  with movable arm on the lid was released just a few weeks ago, I just had to give this a try. You can get a really thin line and it’s great to get a good flick too. I’ve been loving using it. IMG_3898 One of my best friends gave me some Number 7 make up and the stand out product that I’ve been loving is this great deep purple eye liner pencil. The colour is gorgeous, dark but softer than black and it also has a smudger on the other end too. February Favourites!

IMG_3285 IMG_3287The first item in my Feb favourites is Girl On Line On Tour by Zoe Sugg better known as Zoella. My husband bought me this for Valentine’s day and I’ve only had a short time to read it but I’m already half way through and thoroughly enjoying it. I can’t wait to read more. IMG_3289When I’ve not been reading Girl On Line On Tour, I’ve been listening to David Bowie which I’m very much enjoying and I’ve finished this great book on him by David Buckley. It’s filled with lots of accounts from his long time collaborators. It’s a fab book and if you too are a Bowie fanatic, it’s a must read. IMG_3294The Clarins Multi- active Day and Night creams are really great moisturisers. The day cream is rich yet light on the skin and it’s really helped my skin look amazing in the last month. The night cream smells amazing, it has poppy extract in it and it has really been helping me to sleep recently too. IMG_3296Ciate is fast becoming my all time favourite nail polish brand. I received this one in Pillow Fight from an InStyle magazine. It’s beautiful colour. A mauve nude that looks incredible on the nails and goes with everything. And how cute is the bow on the bottle. I’ve even found that you can get reduced Ciate products from TK Maxx with such amazing colours available so I’m ultra happy. IMG_3301I recently did a blog post on the Max Factor Marilyn Monroe collection and I’ve been loving the darkest of the four colours Marilyn Cabernet ever since. It’s a beautiful colour and one everyone seems to be able pull off. It makes every outfit that bit more done up and has such great staying power. If you haven’t tried this already, you should. IMG_3305I’ve always wanted to have some Garlain products as I’ve heard there so good. This one is hopefully the first of many and it didn’t let me down. I picked it up towards the end of  the January sales and it was on sale as I’m told it’s an end of the line product. They lipsticks are so creamy and almost feel like a lip balm. It’s the most beautiful of nudes, slightly darker than Nude Pop from Clinique but in the same tone family. Clinique-lipstick-pic-2I love the Clinique Pop lipsticks. They’re lipsticks that have both colour and primer. I’ve already got and loved Nude Pop, and it made my monthly favourites a few months ago. This one in Party pop, the most beautiful bright pink/red is one I instantly loved. These lipsticks moisturise and last a long time. Perfect! IMG_3312I received these gorgeous Vivienne Westwood earrings from my husband for Valentine’s Day. I’d had my eye on some jewellery from this lovely lady from quite some years, and when I spotted these small silver VW orbs in my local stockists a few months ago, I just knew they had to be mine. My husband knows me well and these beauties were a grand surprise. They come in gold, silver and rose gold and every one comments on them. They really ooze sophistication and glamour.
