I’ve recently started to use Rituals products and I’m loving them. I bought this sugar body scrub to help with my skin in the winter as it can get quite dry and sensitive. It also helps with tanning too. It’s called the Good Luck Scrub and the fragrance is amazing. It’s sweet orange and cider wood and if you haven’t smelt this then you really need too. You can now get Rituals in Marks and Spencers and Debenhams. This palette is one from Elizabeth Arden sunset Bronze Prismatic summer palette and I’m completely addicted to using it. I used the lighter colours of the pink, and cremes in the summer which really suited the outfits that I was wearing and the weather. Now it’s got a bit colder and I’m using the two darker colours, of the rose gold/orange and mostly the darker brown. It has so many beautiful particles and just looks so refreshing on the eye. It’s one to look out for. I was given this Mac Lip Conditioner Hydrate product for my birthday in the summer. I used it a lot during the summer and it’s come in super handy during these colder months too. I get super chapped skin and lips during the colder time of year and although it’s not a balm as such it does help condition the lips a little. I dab a little onto my lips while I’m doing my skin prep and when I come to put my lipstick on my lips look hydrated and plump and ready for the day ahead. It’s a product I now can’t live without and I will definitely be repurchasing. As I mentioned earlier my skin gets really chapped and sore in the winter. I was looking everywhere for a great hand cream that would really aid with helping wth this and this product by L’occitane was suggested. It’s so concentrated and thick which means you only need a small amount to get your hands looking and feeling fresh again. I keep this little tube in my hand bag and my hands are happy again. This product is an old one that I keep coming back too. The Smashbox L.A Lights Lip and cheek colour in Silver Lake Sunset was originally given a sample of this one back last year and I used the product up in the winter as I loved the flushed colour and effect it gives. I repurchased and recently went back to it as it’s so easy to use when you don’t have much time and blends really well. I’ll be using this all winter and beyond, I’m sure. I’ve loved using this Chanel concealer. It’s a fab texture and the colour I have matches me perfectly. It really lasts well and really hides the dark cycles under my eyes. This one is a good one to try and it’s not too expensive for the brand either. I was given this little sample of Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight facial recently and I just love it. This product is talked about a lot by bloggers and I never want to believe the hype of products like this especially as it’s so expensive but when I received this sample I was excited to give it a try. It really does live up to the hype. I love the smell, a little goes a long way It leaves my skin looking glowing and everyone noticed the first time I used it. I hope Santa will be putting this under my tree this year. Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products in my November favourites and if you like them too. Happy Tuesday!
The first item in my September favourites is a fab make up bag that my husband bought for me. We just decided to do small presents for our anniversary as we splashed out on a Mexican holiday. Also the second anniversary product is Cotton so this cotton make up bag with gold writing saying ‘You are adored’ is really special and it’s a great size with reinforced black cotton lining inside. You can never have enough of these little pockets. The second item is this pair of amazing Ted Baker sunglasses. The Kara sunglasses in tortoise print were a very cheeky purchase in Gatwick airport and they stayed firmly on my face for the entire holiday. They were fantastically priced in the sale at around £52 and the shape really goes with my oval shaped face, although they’re the kind of shape that would suit anybody. The next item in my favourites is this Rituals calming product called Tao Qui relaxing serum. It’s a fab Chinese mint & Yi Yi Ren mixture that you roll onto your perfume points on your wrists. I find that it really helped to have this to hand when I was on the flight as a mint fragrance is really good at calming. Flights for me are really stressful, well mainly just the take off and landings, so smelling this a little bit calmed my nerves as it was a familiar smell and made these times a little more bearable. The next item on my favourites is this fab mascara Lash Domination from Bare Minerals. It’s not a brand that I’ve tried many things from but I bought my sister in law a little set for christmas that had this in and she raved about it to me so I had to go and have a peek. It has a fab spiral shaped wand which really lengthens and separates your lashes giving your eyes that lovely doll eyed look. The product itself is great, long lasting and I actually wore it quite a lot on holiday too. This month I’ve really loved lipsticks and there are two in particular that I’ve loved a lot and that I wore throughout September. The first is a colour from Mac. Hot Gossip is a pink/purple that goes with every outfit. It’s a cream sheen so it has a really creamy texture with a little silver pink sheen to it too. It’s a perfect colour. The second is a new lip product from Elizabeth Arden that I had sent to me. It’s a new Bold Liquid lipstick in Passionate Peach. You push up the little switch and the product comes out of the moulded tip. It lasts quite a long time although it doesn’t dry down to a darker colour like other liquid lipsticks, it stays on the lips for quite some time. I sometimes pair it with a lip balm too and it stays on quite a long time and looks great. Let me know what you’ve been loving in September and if you’ve tried any of these products in the comments below. Happy shopping!
The packaging of this collection is so pretty with the contrasting colour and the geometric design. The products themselves are great too. The prismatic bronzing powder is a great colour and isn’t quite so in your face as the palette suggests and it’s easily blend-able with room to go subtle for a daytime look or full on for more of an evening look. The powder products are made with argon oil and Vitamin E to prevent your skin from over drying. It also comes with a small travel brush, that would be great to use for emergancies. The eye palette from the limited edition is beautiful and right up my street colour wise. The range of gorgeous colours are contrasting and have such great pigment. They also blend really well. The colours are all glittery and if I could add or change anything about this palette it would be to have one or two matte colours to even it out a little. The limited edition Sunset Bronze Prismatic lip glosses come in three colours that are all prismatic, glowing and are infused with pearlescent light reflecting particles. They all last a really long time and the shine you get when the gloss has worn off is just as amazing as the lip gloss itself. 01 is a pretty lavender colour and is called Moonlight Kiss. 02 is called Sunset Kiss and is a beautiful gold and my personal favourite is 03 in Midnight Kiss a gorgeous pink that just lights up your face. You can buy this collection at your nearest Elizabeth Arden counter. Have you tried out the new Limited Edition Sunset Bronze Collection? Let me know what you think in the comments below. First up is one of my most loved products, it’s the Rituals foaming shower gel in the Happy Buddha – Organic mandarin and yuzu fragrance. If you haven’t smelt this before, you really must go and seek this product out. It smells like the most fruitiest of oranges and it really does make you happy to smell it. The product itself reminds me of the Imperial Leather foaming gel as you only need a little product for it to foam up. It’s luxurious and moisturising and a joy to use. It’s quite expensive though at £8.50 but I tend to go for it when I see it on sale. This Oil Infused Micellar Water from Garnier is really light and really does take off all of my make up even the little water proof make up that I use. You shake it up to activate it and I’ve loved using it. Mainly because it doesn’t leave a horrible residue that most make up removers leave behind which is always a plus. It’s defiantly one to check out next time you go to look for make up remover. I’m a big fan of the Baylis and Harding hand washes. I normally go for the yellow sweet Manderin and grapefruit as it smells like lemon sherbet but we saw this hydrating honey hand wash, loved the smell. My hands are quite fussy and go dry with most hand wash so when I find one that I like I stick with it. This one is beautiful. It smells devine and really looks after my hands. It’s quite cheap but lasts an age so if you see it, check it out. My next product of May that I’ve been loving is the Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo. Now this is supposed to be a three in one product, shine of a lipgloss, the intense colour of a lipstick and the comfort of a lip balm. I have it in 208 – Roman and I’ve really been enjoying wear this product since I bought it. It doesn’t feel like I have product on although I have found that I have to reapply it quite often. It’s a beautiful product though and one that you should swatch if you get a chance. I received the Elizabeth Arden Limted Edition Sunset Bronze Summer collection this month and I haven’t been able to stop using it. Specifically the eye palette, the colours blend really nicely and look amazing. They all go really well together and you can do a muted day time look really easily, and add some of the brighter colours to take your look to evening too. When I’ve not been wearing the eye palette colours from Elizabeth Arden, I’ve been loving the Clarins Limited Edition Waterproof Cream eyeshadows in Silver Taupe and Copper brown. They go on really nicely and the colours are beautiful although it’s quite an art to put these colours on without them creasing. You really have to prime the colours correctly so that doesn’t happen. It’s been fun to work out the best way of using them this month. This product is the new Instant Light Comfort lip oil from Clarins in the colour Red Berry. It smells beautiful. This one has a slight plumping effect and it works on moisturising and nourishing the lips and it really does work. You can wear it on its own or over a lipstick to add a little something. Let me know what you’ve been loving in May in the comments below. I’d love to know your thoughts. Happy shopping!
