My Winter go-to make up!

The colder weather calls for moisturising products to help keep your skin feeling fresh. Along with a more winter friendly skin care regime, I’ve also changed up my make up slightly. There are a few trusty products that I keep going back to so I’ve gathered them together and popped them in a post to share with you.
IMG_1727
First up is a light weight brightening cream from Rosie by Autograph at Marks & Spencers, one of the main products from the collaboration with model Rosie Huntington Whitely. This product gives a beautiful radiant glow when layered lightly over the skin and it’s also a great base to work with too. It’s moisturising and can be worn on it’s own for those lazy days or under foundation for a more dressed up look. It also has a low level SPF in which is great on those days when you’re out in the sun a little. Best of all, it leaves my skin looking more healthy even when I’m not feeling it and it’s good for both vegetarians and vegans to use which is an added bonus.
IMG_1740
Next up is Bye Bye Under Eye from It Cosmetics. As I’ve said before, I’ve heard a lot of bloggers and Youtubers rave about this concealer so when I recently saw it in Selfridges, I nabbed a few testers to see what the fuss was about. When applied, it feels like a wonder product as when warmed up and applied in the under eye area, it really does conceal. It is heavy though so the one thing that I’ve noticed is that with great application comes a great setting powder and a fab make up remover/ cleansing routine in the evening. Trust me your skin will thank me and needless to say I went back to get the full size too.
IMG_1738
Next up is the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Glow palette. It has three gorgeous eye shadows in that help you gain a great day time look. Start with the lightest first all over the lid, pop the middle colour over the middle and outer edge of the eye with a little to be pulled underneath. Leaving the darkest colour to be fluffed into the crease. Darken this up a little more for an evening look too.
Next up is the contour, now I don’t use this much as it’s a tad dark for my colouring but pop a hint just under the cheek bones in a line towards your ear and blend in till theres just a hint of colour. You could also go around the hair line lightly, down each side of your nose lightly and under the edge of your jaws. Looks great! Next up is the blush, theres two in this palette, the top one is a little dark for me so I just use the lighter one as a pop of colour. It looks so pretty.
Lastly the highlight is for the tops of your cheek bones, the outer half of the brow bone, also maybe a little down the nose and on the cupids bow on the top lip. It’s a beautiful subtle golden colour that’s loved by everyone that uses it.
IMG_1728
I apply a little mascara on my eye lashes next, I’ve been testing so many out recently that I couldn’t decide on one to show. I like length, colour and definition with something like the IT Cosmetics Superhero or Armani Eccentrico both give.
IMG_1733
Next up is eye brows. I’ve long been a long time fan of Fleur De Force eyebrow products so this double ended brow define pencil is perfect for filling in those pesky sparse areas. With both a darker and a light shade, it covers all bases.
IMG_1735
If the eye shadow isn’t dark enough for an evening look, freshen it up a little with a subtle shimmer of the Havana Mac eye shadow. A little in the crease is all it needs to make the look pop!
IMG_1732
Last up is this gorgeous Collection eye liner – it’s a hard nibbed pen is great for creating a perfect cat eye flick or a subtle line to make your lashes look a little thinker. The long handle allows for precise movement and application and the formula is long lasting.
IMG_1730
Finish the look with a killer lipstick. My favourite is the Charlotte Tilbury in Pillow Talk, a beauty of a colour that looks like your lips but better. Perfect for everyday. The second is this pretty  Tom Ford creation in Indian Rose. It’s a perfect nude pink to pull any look together and a perfect way to make your make up look and feel a so special. Perfect for a birthday meal or a wedding!
Let me what do you think of the products used and if you’ve been liking any  message me over on Twitter to let me know.

My Winter Favourites!

Over the colder months I have been adding to my beauty collection and loving quite a few lifestyle items too so I thought I would share them in this Winter Favourites post.
IMG_1714

Fearne Cotton – Happy

Fearne Cotton has written a few books in the last few years, one of which was a book called Happy. She draws on her own experiences with happiness and gives her own tips and hints to what helped her on her journey. It’s a great read and after the success of the book, she went on to write a journal where she gives daily tips and hints. There are exercises to complete, things to think about and music to listen to. It goes through the whole of the year, I’ve been loving reading this and I’m looking forward to popping this into my daily routine.
IMG_1715

Rosie by Autograph – Amazing Radiance Cream

The first make up product I have to share with you is the Rosie by Autograph – Amazing Radiance Cream, part of the collaboration with Rosie Huntington Whitely. I love this stuff because of it’s subtle yet gorgeous radiance it gives you. You can wear it both under foundation and on it’s own, either way it gives you a healthy glow. It was also a finalist in the 2017 CEW Beauty Awards and I can see why, now I’ve used it.
IMG_1716

Mac – Extra Dimension Eye Shadow in Havana

The Extra Dimension Eye Shadow in the colour Havana from Mac is a really pretty deep copper brown. It’s not a colour I had seen before I had bought it but I’ve been wearing this quite a lot over the past few months.  A light dusting over the full lid in the day time or a darker dusting just in the crease in the evening. It has some really lovely pigmentation and shimmer which is even deeper with a little fix spray.
IMG_1718

IT Cosmetics – ByeBy Under Eye Concealer

It Cosmetics is a brand that  keep hearing a lot about so when I needed a concealer recently I thought that I could try out the Bye Bye Under Eyes Concealer and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s high coverage so it really does cover a multitude of sins although it does come in only six colours. It’s also infused with peptides, vitamins, hyaluronic acid and more.
IMG_1720

L’Occitane – Precious Light Cream

L’Occitane is a company that I’ve always loved so when I had the Precious Light cream was sent to me recently I knew that would love it straight away. It’s a light moisturiser that can be used daily. It really smooths and firms the skin. It also absorbs quickly and contains SPF20 which it perfect all year around to protect from harmful UV rays.
IMG_1723

Becca – Luminous Blush in Chameleon

The last product that I’ve been loving this winter is this Becca Luminous blush in the beautiful colour Chameleon. It’s a purple/pink colour goes really well with a Winter or Summer styled make up. It’s subtle but creates a gorgeous flush on the cheeks and I love using it.

Wednesday Wishlist!

wednesday-wishlist

Wishlist Wednesday is a little late this week but I have so many lovely things to show you, lets get straight into it.
1. Mac liptensity lipstick – Mulling Spices
First up is this fab Liptensity Lipsticks from Mac. It’s a beautiful deep red from the new range that came out at the end of last year. Mulling Spices is great for this time of the year. The lips itself has a fab colour pay off but melts to the lips like a lip balm so it will keep your lips nourished in this colder weather.
2. New Look – Navy Cable Knit Cardigain
I really love a good cardigan to layer over t-shirts and short sleeves dresses. It’s a great way to give some longevity to your Autumn wardrobe. This thick Cable knit from New Look is perfect and will look amazing with a multitude of outfits. It also comes in a number of different colours too.
3. Hush – Short Parka
I’m loving this gorgeous little black Parka from Hush. I seriously want everything from this shop. It’s an expensive one but the quality is amazing and you know it will last. This jacket looks seriously warm with the faux fur lining the full jacket which is just what you need in this weather. It will go with everything and the style is up to date and so in season right now too.
4. Missoma – Starlight half star studs
I’m in love with these Starlight half star studs from Missoma Jewellery from this company at the moment is well sort after and I can see why.  These earrings are such a statement but one that you could get away with wearing every day. You are sure to get everyone talking about them!
5. Silk Fred – Black Faux Suede Over the Knee Boots
Over the knee boots are a trend that comes back every year. I never thought I would ever suit something like this but personal styles changes and allows for new things all the time. Over the knee boots can be tacky but I’ve found that the heel shape is key to this and these boots from Silkfred are lovely and actually a really great dupe for the Weitzman boots too.
6. Hush – Sintra Shirt
Like I said earlier I really do love everything from Hush so my second choice for this wish list is this ultra cool mini lightning bolt print Sintra shirt. It’s great quality so it’s going to look great for a long time both tucked in or left untucked, and also is great for layering too. It’s that investment piece you can rely on. I’m also a huge Bowie fan so it has a double meaning for his fans too.
Are you loving the products in this wish list? Do you have any of these products or do you have your eye on one or two of them ? Let me know in the comments below or over on my Twitter.

November Favourites!

img_4224 img_4236 I’ve recently started to use Rituals products and I’m loving them. I bought this sugar body scrub to help with my skin in the winter as it can get quite dry and sensitive. It also helps with tanning too. It’s called the Good Luck Scrub and the fragrance is amazing. It’s sweet orange and cider wood and if you haven’t smelt this then you really need too. You can now get Rituals in Marks and Spencers and Debenhams. img_4232 This palette is one from Elizabeth Arden sunset Bronze Prismatic summer palette and I’m completely addicted to using it. I used the lighter colours of the pink, and cremes in the summer which really suited the outfits that I was wearing and the weather. Now it’s got a bit colder and I’m using the two darker colours, of the rose gold/orange and mostly the darker brown. It has so many beautiful particles and just looks so refreshing on the eye. It’s one to look out for. img_4242 I was given this Mac Lip Conditioner Hydrate product for my birthday in the summer. I used it a lot during the summer and it’s come in super handy during these colder months too. I get super chapped skin and lips during the colder time of year and although it’s not a balm as such it does help condition the lips a little. I dab a little onto my lips while I’m doing my skin prep and when I come to put my lipstick on my lips look hydrated and plump and ready for the day ahead. It’s a product I now can’t live without and I will definitely be repurchasing. img_4238 As I mentioned earlier my skin gets really chapped and sore in the winter. I was looking everywhere for a great hand cream that would really aid with helping wth this and this product by L’occitane was suggested. It’s so concentrated and thick which means you only need a small amount to get your hands looking and feeling fresh again. I keep this little tube in my hand bag and my hands are happy again. img_4234 This product is an old one that I keep coming back too. The Smashbox L.A Lights Lip and cheek colour in Silver Lake Sunset was originally given a sample of this one back last year and I used the product up in the winter as I loved the flushed colour and effect it gives. I repurchased and recently went back to it as it’s so easy to use when you don’t have much time and blends really well. I’ll be using this all winter and beyond, I’m sure. img_4227 I’ve loved using this Chanel concealer. It’s a fab texture and the colour I have matches me perfectly. It really lasts well and really hides the dark cycles under my eyes. This one is a good one to try and it’s not too expensive for the brand either. img_4229 I was given this little sample of Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight facial recently and I just love it. This product is talked about a lot by bloggers and I never want to believe the hype of products like this especially as it’s so expensive but when I received this sample I was excited to give it a try. It really does live up to the hype. I love the smell, a little goes a long way It leaves my skin looking glowing and everyone noticed the first time I used it. I hope Santa will be putting this under my tree this year. Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products in my November favourites and if you like them too. Happy Tuesday!

Sunday Instagram round up!

screen-shot-2016-11-20-at-21-12-59 screen-shot-2016-11-20-at-21-12-40   Starting from the bottom right hand corner, I’ve been loving the new Stabucks Gingerbread Latte’s with Soya Milk. They’re super yummy although I can’t be drink many of them, they are nice to warm you up in this cold weather. Mac recently brought out their Nutcracker collection. It’s one of my favourite ballets along with Romeo and Juliet so I love the music which they always have on.  The make up is beautiful and the nutcrackers themselves and packaging are is this awesome pink and plum colours. The actually products are pretty cool too and there are quite a few gems in this collection. You know I always love a good quote so this one seemed a positive vibe to think about. The weather has finally started to get colder and so some of the products that have been keeping me cozy are this fab Phase Eight scarf, the fab ankle boots are from Office, the Jo Malone perfume is the the Blue Agave and Cacao. The black top underneath is from New Look and the lippie is from Chanel. Perfect. I’m sure I’ll be writing a post about this soon enough. My October favourites post is up on the Emily Hearts so go and check it out. You all know how much I love The Den in Colchester andI’m always here at least once throughout the weekend. They had lemon cupcakes today and it’s all vegan. Super cool! Just over the road is the cutest of flower shops called Dily’s and they had a lot of Christmas plants and trees out. Just so cute. I went along to my favourite shops Fenwicks to try on a few dresses for a wedding that I’m going to this week. Left it a little late but I found this fab bright blue Phase Eight dress and it looks amazing on. It might have to find it’s way into my wardrobe for the winter months. 3 Autumn Lip colours!

img_4024 The first shade is a Hot Gossip from Mac. The packaging looks luxurious and the formulation is a creme sheen which almost looks like a frosted finish due to how shiny it is. It lasts really well and is really moisturising. It has a subtle purple tint to the shade which is really easy to wear and it’s also perfect for a daytime or evening look too.  I recently found that it’s actually a pinker version of syrup by Mac too. img_4036 The next colour is from Urban Decay and is the shade Liar. It’s a slightly more brown/nude than the last one. The pigmentation of this colour is really good as one swipe of the bullet gives plenty of colour. Again this is a creme formula which I love but when on this actually feel very light but it lasts a long time. You can wear it for the office slightly patted into the lip, but it transitions well to evening too. I love the packaging with the two tone gold and gun metal grey. img_4034 The last shade is a beautiful colour called Secret Salma from Charlotte Tilbury and my first ever lipstick from her line and I’m really impressed. I love the gorgeous rose gold packaging and it catches everyones eye when your applying it. This lipstick is slightly pinker than the last one and is from the new Hot Lips collection and is a Luminous Modern-Matte formula. I’m not usually one for matte lipsticks as I hate the drying effect matte lipsticks have but this one has a really buttery texture with the Orchid extract that is included, and it feels amazing on the lips. It was named after the beautiful Mexican actress Selma Hayek, and encapsulates her sexiness.  It also really brings out the eye colour of everyone that wears it. I love to wear it blotted onto the lip for just a tint of colour in the daytime. For an evening look I pop this on with a touch a little gloss in the centre. It’s so flattering. img_4028 Here’s the swatches of each colour from right to left, CT’s Secret Salma, Urban Decay Liar and Mac Hot Gossip. img_4038 Which one of these beautiful shades is your favourite colour? Have you got any of these colours or  will you be on the look out for one of these for yourself? Let me know in the comments below or on Twitter. Happy Shopping!

September Favourites!

img_3986 The first item in my September favourites is a fab make up bag that my husband bought for me. We just decided to do small presents for our anniversary as we splashed out on a Mexican holiday. Also the second anniversary product is Cotton so this cotton make up bag with gold writing saying ‘You are adored’ is really special and it’s a great size with reinforced black cotton lining inside. You can never have enough of these little pockets. img_3987 img_3991 The second item is this pair of amazing Ted Baker sunglasses. The Kara sunglasses in tortoise print were a very cheeky purchase in Gatwick airport and they stayed firmly on my face for the entire holiday. They were fantastically priced in the sale at around £52 and the shape really goes with my oval shaped face, although they’re the kind of shape that would suit anybody. img_4017 The next item in my favourites is this Rituals calming product called Tao Qui relaxing serum. It’s a fab Chinese mint & Yi Yi Ren mixture that you roll onto your perfume points on your wrists. I find that it really helped to have this to hand when I was on the flight as a mint fragrance is really good at calming. Flights for me are really stressful, well mainly just the take off and landings, so smelling this a little bit calmed my nerves as it was a familiar smell and made these times a little more bearable. img_4021 The next item on my favourites is this fab mascara Lash Domination from Bare Minerals. It’s not a brand that I’ve tried many things from but I bought my sister in law a little set for christmas that had this in and she raved about it to me so I had to go and have a peek. It has a fab spiral shaped wand which really lengthens and separates your lashes giving your eyes that lovely doll eyed look. The product itself is great, long lasting and I actually wore it quite a lot on holiday too. img_4009 This month I’ve really loved lipsticks and there are two in particular that I’ve loved a lot and that I wore throughout September. The first is a colour from Mac. Hot Gossip is a pink/purple that goes with every outfit. It’s a cream sheen so it has a really creamy texture with a little silver pink sheen to it too. It’s a perfect colour. img_4003 img_4006 The second is a new lip product from Elizabeth Arden that I had sent to me. It’s a new Bold Liquid lipstick in Passionate Peach. You push up the little switch and the product comes out of the moulded tip. It lasts quite a long time although it doesn’t dry down to a darker colour like other liquid lipsticks, it stays on the lips for quite some time. I sometimes pair it with a lip balm too and it stays on quite a long time and looks great. Let me know what you’ve been loving in September and if you’ve tried any of these products in the comments below. Happy shopping!

July Favourites!

IMG_3873 For my birthday, my sister-in-law bought me the coolest black and gold personalised wash/make up bag. She bought it from the Tillyanna at Not on the High Street. It’s such a simple yet brilliant pressie and I’m sure it will feature on the site a lot more to come. IMG_3880 Inside my beautiful make up bag is the Mac Pro Long wear Waterproof colour stick in Copperpot. I’m a big fan of waterproof eye shadow and this one is a great. It’s very long wearing as the name suggests and it’s also a great colour. I’ve been wearing it non stop with a little dark brown in the corners. It’s a simple look that  I love. IMG_3894 IMG_3895 I received this Clarins Supra volume Mascara and I’ve been loving this so much this month too. When it says that it volumes it really does what it says on the packaging. Oh the gold packaging is classy and so sophisticated.  The product itself volumises, lengthens and makes your lashes look amazing and not spider like. Perfect! IMG_3891I had a spot break out on my forehead over the last few months and so I was recommended 7 day scrub rinse off formula from Clinique. Its a formula that you can use day and night for sensitive skin and it’s definitely helped the affected area. IMG_3883 This month I’ve just finished up using the Neal’s Yard Nurturing Rose Shampoo. It’s a really beautiful shampoo that smells amazing. It makes your hair feel great too and it feels light and fresh. It’s one I’ve really enjoyed using and I’m a little sad is finished. IMG_3887 I’ve always struggled a little when doing eye liner so when this Grandiose Eyeliner from Lancome  with movable arm on the lid was released just a few weeks ago, I just had to give this a try. You can get a really thin line and it’s great to get a good flick too. I’ve been loving using it. IMG_3898 One of my best friends gave me some Number 7 make up and the stand out product that I’ve been loving is this great deep purple eye liner pencil. The colour is gorgeous, dark but softer than black and it also has a smudger on the other end too. IMG_3901 What products have you been loving this month and have you tried any of the products that I choose this month? Let me know in the comments below. Happy shopping!
