Happy Music Monday! It’s been positively scotching lately, and after returning from a festival in London this weekend I still found myself trying to find the kind of summer anthem the hasn’t quite come across my path yet this year.
While checking out some new tracks this evening, I think I have just found what I was looking for. The tune in question is a collaboration between American producer Zhu and one of my favourite bands Tame Impala, whose vocalist Kevin Parker lends his vocals to this absolutely storming track My Life.
It’s a bouncing, synthy tune that weaves between breaks, drops and the kind of syncopated loops that Tame Impala have been associated with over the years. It’s a combination of two heavyweight artists at their peak, showcasing their creativity that seems to come with such ease.
The video to the track features Willow Smith and tells a short story of a summer of love which appears to be more of a lookbook of effortless cool than a music video, but it’s a great watch nonetheless.

Happy Music Monday! This week’s track is a surprise collaboration between two of the hottest bands in recent years – HAIM and Tame Impala.
The track is billed a remix of Tame Impala’s most recent single ‘Cause I’m a Man from this year’s album Currents, but actually features a completely new vocal track recorded by Alana Haim as well as some new electronic layers which sound similar to those found on HAIM’s 2013 album Days Are Gone.
Have a listen and let me know in the comments what you’ve been listening to lately. Have a great week!
Happy Monday! It’s been a long time since the glorious days when the Beatles were all alive and making music together. If you’ve spun your Beatles albums to death and you long for more, then this week’s Music Monday is for you!
Hailing from Perth, Australia, Tame Impala is the recording project of Kevin Parker. After releasing their breakthrough album Lonerism in 2012, a follow up album bringing big things is expected in 2015. If the teaser track released this month Let it Happen is anything to go by then this album is going to be absolutely immense. Sounding like modern Beatles masterpiece, it mixes the best of the psychedelic Sgt. Pepper’s with the White Album-era John Lennon vocals. People are going nuts over this new track, and for good reason. With new albums from Tame Impala, Beach House and Grimes, 2015 is going to be a great year for music!
