The shops are full of colourful products and I’m loving navigating Summer fashion now the weather is finally starting to get a little hotter. Stripes and spots are seeing their time once again and are some of the biggest trends this season. I’m loving finding little gems to wear. I thought I would gather some of my favourite pieces that I’ve seen in the shops recently.
- First up is this gorgeous bright yellow wrap dress from Topshop. The short sleeves are slightly longer than normal but if you love to hide your upper arms in Summer this is a dress to try out. The length of skirt is key this season as it’s a really flattering to wear and the bright colour suits so many people. It will even brighten your mood too. Team it with a pair of trainers and a denim jacket or heels and a belt for the ultimate cool look.
- My second pick is this really gorgeous Y.A.S Dot and Stripe Ruffle Dress I love a shorter style dress or skirt in the summer and this Y.A.S choice looks so cute. It has both spot and stripes which work together well and the ruffle detail makes this dress especially playful. Team it with some converse or vans and a cross body bag for a funky vibe.
- Rompers or Playsuits are great for the warmer weather, and this Tropical Map Print Romper from And Other Stories is a winner. Such a pretty colour and I love a fun print in the summer too. Team this with some sandals or mules for the day time or a heel for the evening with a jacket to keep the cold at bay.
- Culottes are huge this season and if your searching for the perfect pair, these Lost Ink Wide Leg polka dot trousers might just be the ones for you. Team them with a lightweight jumper and a pair of wrap around wedges and you’ll be right on trend.
- The summer season isn’t complete without the perfect red dress and I love a long wrap around one. It’s perfect for an evening out or for a special occasion. Curved Hem Maxi Dress from And Other stories is super cute with the ditsy print. Team it with black accessories, handbag and heels and maybe a leather jacket to pop around your shoulders for when the night get chillier.
- Straw bags are gorgeous and the accessory to have with you this summer. I spotted this super cute large embroidered circle bag in Accessorize. The bright embroidery will brighten any outfit! Team it with a denim skirt, floaty top and sandals for the perfect Summertime look.
- A great pair of dressy heels for summer should include a block heel. They don’t sink into grass garden parties and they’re a lot my comfy than your avarage court shoe. My final summer pick are these gorgeous Kurt Geiger Burlington Shoes , they’re stylish and will go with anything. They also come in a red which is great for a pop of colour in an outfit.
Let me know what your favourite pieces are from the choices above and what you are loving wearing this season in the comments below or over on Twitter.
I am loving winter party wear at the moment and with a few on the horizon, I thought I would gather my favourite bits together to show you.
1. AX Paris Plum Lace Midi Dress
First up is the Plum coloured lace midi dress from AX Paris. It’s perfect for those Christmas parties and maybe even just a night out on the town. Teamed with a black pair of heels, bag and jacket it will have everyone complimenting you.
2. River Island Silver and Pink Sequinned blazer
This time of year sequins can do no wrong and the two toned blazer from River Island is a corker.Wear it with something plain like a pair of jeans and heels and it’ll be the main feature of your outfit. You’ll be remembered!
3. Topshop Lips Printed Frill Blouse
I have this Lip print frill blouse in a few different designs and this one recently caught my eye when I was in the shop. The print is ultra cute and the style of shirt is easy to throw on with some jeans, a skirt or a pair of trousers. It’ll be great in the day time but also for those evenings when you have to run off to a date.
4. Next Navy Pleated Midi Skirt
One of the most recent trends that keeps on coming around year after year is the pleated midi. This navy pleated skirt from Next is ultra cool, with a great texture, weight and colour. It will go great with a knit and boots for work or some heels and a camisole for the evening. This is a look that I’ll be checking out!
5. Vila Asymmetric knit
Lastly I’ve chosen this gorgeous white Vila Asymmetric knit. It’s a little different with the ribbing and style but it will keep you warm in this colder weather. It will go really well with a skirt or just a plain pair of jeans and heels for an evening out at the pub with some friends. White is such a wintery colour too.
Have you been loving anything in my Going Out Wishlist? Let me know in the comments below or over on Twitter.
The first piece in my Wish list is this Pretty Mesh Insert Tee . This is not any plain tshirt, it has beautiful detailing around the cuff and hem of the t-shirt. It also has super cool mesh fitted into the sleeves which will be perfect for keeping you cool this Spring/Summer.
The second piece is a really pretty Asos Ruffle detail cami top. It’s super easy to wear and as it’s so classic that it’ll stay in fashion for years to come.
The next piece is this Wilton striped t-shirt from Phase Eight. If you don’t already know I love stripes and this t-shirt is really cool. It has small cup sleeves and a white vest attachment at the bottom of the top which will hide a multitude of sins.
This Beth Lace top in ivory is the perfect lace top to go with everything on those colder Spring and summer days and Phase Eight currently has a 20% discount so go check this out.
The next piece is one of my favourites, it’s this Glamorous Petite embroidered off the shoulder folk top. It’s gorgeous with the white seems and the colourful design on the front. It fits in with the summer boho style and I love it.
I love the style of this gorgeous blue dress with the blue lace overlay and white lining. It reminds me so much of the Self Portrait dresses that have been every where. This Camille Lace Dress is the perfect dupe and would be perfect as a wedding guest dress. You will shine but not outshine the bride.
I bought some white leather converse recently but as soon as I saw these really cool rose gold Converse, I fell in love with these too. They’re so fresh and so in season at the moment and rose gold never gets old.
Which pieces do you love? Let me know in the comments below.
From my husband and one of my good friends I received these two shoulder bags, both from Toyshop. We’d been to a few Christmas parties over the festive period and I’d had to borrow a little bag as the ones I have are beautiful but quite big for going out to parties.
The black bag is velvet with small gold studs. It’s really pretty and so on trend. The second brown one is a take on the Chloe Drew bag and it’s gorgeous. It’s slightly bigger than the other and is made from fake leather. So pretty!
I love music, all types as you can probably tell and from mum I recieved the Darcy Bussell Ballet Music Collection. Is filled with music from the greats, from Giselle to the Nutcracker. From my nan I recieved the Adele 25 Album. I love her new music and have been listening to it quite a bit in the last few weeks so I was chuffed to get this one. I loved that my nan kept calling her A-delle, it made me laugh for hours. These are great for the car, for long journeys when the radio just doesn’t cut it.
These are a few of the bigger pressies I received. The gorgeous Olivia Burton watch was my main pressie from my husband. He’d remembered that I loved it recently and had popped it on Instagram. It’s ultra pretty and I’ve warn it most days since I received it so far. He knows me too well.
From my sister and my dad, I received a few Pandora charms to go on my bracelet. They gave me the red heart and E to me last Christmas, for this one I was given the silver heart with my Pandora style birthstone, and light pink crystal band and one that had to be exchanged which was a double sisters charm that isn’t pictured. All really pretty and meaningful pressie!
Finally the bee earrings were a pressie from my aunt. You know I love Bees and so does my family. My aunt picked these up from the V and A museum when they had been down to London a few months previously. So cute!
I received a few beauty products this Christmas too. The Real Technique brushes were from my husband. I kept mentioning the metals collection set that was in Boots. They’re so soft and work really well. The clutch bag is really pretty too.
I also received these awesome Laura Mercier Cream Caviar Stick eye shadows. I’m completely addicted to using Amethyst and use it most days along with a few colours from the Naked Smoky palette. (colours and swatches are below).
From left to right the colours are Aubergine, Ganache, Khaki, Amethyst, Rosegold and Sugar Frost.
The last product I received was the Pupa Cat 4 palette. I don’t know very much about this company apart from that it’s an Italian. This product is so cute though. It has a mixture of products in it though including several eye shadow’s, a blush as well as a mirror and a make up brush. It’s so pretty though I haven’t wanted to use it yet. Those little ears!
As well as all of these beautiful gifts. I also received tickets to Ellie Goulding for her tour in March. Needless to say I’m proper excited.
What did you get for Christmas. Let me know in the comments below.
There are lots of sales on and also lots of new products out and quite a few lovely products have caught my eye so I’ve popped together a Wishlist for September. First up is this gorgeous pair of Asos Play It Cool Pointed High Heels. I love that they have a sling back high heel but are kept covered up at the front. At £31.50, they’re a perfect price.
Next up is this Asos Tunic With Split Sides and Oh Chat Print. It’s a bargain at £12 and so playful with the print too. I love the little cat nose in the centre of the shirt. so Cute!
I spied this number in a magazine this week and it’s a beautiful embroidered collar dress. Topshop dresses are always so well made and this one looks more expensive than it’s £65. It’s a very current silhouette and it’s something that you will be able to keep on wearing throughout winter with a pair of ankle boots and thick tights.
You’ve got to love a jumpsuit and this gorgeous Chelsea Peers Panda Jumpsuit is so cute. It’s light weight so good for sleeping in and I just love the pastel blue shade and the pandas. Squeeee!
I’ve been looking for a coat that’s light weight but warm for this awkward in between season period and I think that this might just be a winner. The New Look Belted Wrap Coat is just £49.99 so it wont break the bank, it’s really stylish and it doesn’t feel too wintery as it’s style that gorgeous camel colour. Perfect!
I just love this butterfly print and again it has the gorgeous pastel blue shade. I think I’m trying to hang on to summer a little bit. This Butterfly Blouse is a beautiful texture and it will take you nicely from the office to evening or even weekend. You might want to wear this with a pleather skirt to keep it bang on trend.
I’m rather in-love with this V&A Kilburn Pencil Skirt. You might even see me on theOasis site if you look really carefully. I teamed this skirt with a cream cami and statement necklace along with a pair of flats, but you might like to team it with a black cami or even a top of the same print for an ultra special look. I’ll be popping into my nearest Oasis to buy this to wear on our upcoming wedding anniversary this weekend. It’s so pretty!
These sweet Limelight Fringe Loafers from Office seem to catch my eye every time I walk past my local Office. As a kid I used to hate wearing the annual pair of loafers, they’d gape around my feet when I walked which made me dislike them even more. They seemed to have figured out how to stop that these days though and I’ve been biding my time before I buy a pair. These loafers will be a stylish and sophisticated addition to any wardrobe, and a pair of shoes you won’t have to earmark just for school or the office. Wear them with a short pair of trousers or a cute dress.
What have you been eying up recently, let me know in the comments below.
Michael Kors bag a few months now. I received it from my lovely husband for Christmas 2014. I’ve wanted it for quite a few years so he certainly knows me well. I’ve perfected what I have in my bag a little more now and it tends to change by day if I have meetings and things but heres the main contents of my new bag. I love how there are compartments, this is what drew me to it in the first place as it makes organising my items easier. It has a middle section that will hold my laptop if I need to transport it anywhere which is a definite bonus too.
I’m never without a note pad as you never know when you’ll have an amazing idea for a post or find out about a product of some kind. I also always have a diary with me as I have everything in hard copy form as well as on my phone which is also here. These two are both from Paperchase. You can’t beat that shop! My two pens are from Swarovski and are both pink, one of my favourite colours. The phone is an Apple iPhone 5 which I’m hoping to upgrade soon.
You can’t be without keys as these are for my flat. The pretty keyring is from Cath Kidston. I met her a few years ago and this keyring reminds me of that time. I also bought the Michael Kors purse at christmas with some of the money I received. It’s my perfect purse as it looks classic and matches my gorgeous bag. It has lots of space for change, cards and a few bonus old school pics of my husband in the back somewhere. I always have some pink business cards for my blog on me. I’m waiting for these to run out so that I can update my email account with my married name. Hee hee!
As for the products, I always have Nurofen in my bag as I suffer from dreaded Migraines, Bleagh! Hand cream makes a big appearance in Winter as my hands are always so dry. This one is Neutrogena Norwegian Formula and it’s pretty good but it tends to change every day depending on how they feel. If I have sore cut hands I’ve been recently reaching for the Cowshed – Cowslip Sweet Orange and Peppermint version. It closes the cuts up really quickly and is really soothing which is great because they can really hurt.
I always have a perfume or deodorant too. Todays is My Burberry by Burberry which is so warm and luxurious for the winter. Totally my favourite scent at the moment although I tend to change them up seasonally. In my SewLomax make up bag I have the Soap and Glory – A Great Kisser lip balm in Juicy Peach and lip gloss in Sexy Mother Pucker. Such a great- your lips but better colour and gloss. I also have the cute compact bee mirror I received for my birthday, the lemonade Lanolips and Urban Decay’s Lovelight which is a current favourite. I also have the Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara as I’m a big fan of this mascara, a gorgeous bright but deep red Topshop lipstick in Really Ruby as you never know when you’ll need to make yourself look posh.
I also have Max Factor’s Colour Elixir Gloss in Radiant Rose as it’s my favourite gloss of all time and Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara as I’m trying it out for a review. So many thing’s and I’m surprised I get it all in half the time. Eeek!
Have you got any of these products or have you got a link for your what’s in my bag? Let me know in the comments below.
Outfit of the Day
As you can tell from the title of the post this is my first proper OOTD post. Yesssssss!
I wore this to work today and just loved it. Errrr I hope you do too. 🙂
My dress is from Topshop, a new dress that I bought this week that was £26. It doesn’t seem to be on line anymore but is a great price for what this is.
My leggings are also from Topshop for £12, and these are a great wardrobe staple.
My pumps are from Primarny, I mean Primark and they were £8.:-)
Lastly, my jacket is from H & M and was £29.99. I actually wore the jacket for my engagement party in December.
You cant really see my make up but I had a cheeky little Benefit make over at my local Boots store to try the new products and I’m wearing They’re real, the new creaseless cream eye shadow in Skinny Jeans, and the Benefit Hervana blush.
