Fitness channels that I love
With the pandemic keeping everyone indoors and separated, having little things like routine and concentrating on both fitness and family has become a great focus, especially over the Autumn and Winter. For me as well as looking after my little girl, keeping active, doing online low impact fitness classes most days has really really helped mentally and physically. I’ve chosen five different channels, that I use on a regular basis. I love keeping up with them and receiving a new video every so often.
Up to the BEat fit
The first channel is a fitness channel with a really energetic instructor called Gina B. She’s an Australian based ex-professional ballroom latin dancer turned fitness and nutrition coach. Her fitness channel includes classes that have aerobic, ballroom, and walking based movement to music of all kinds. I’m someone that likes to keep up with their 10k steps everyday and Gina creates routines keeping this in mind. Up to the BEat Fitness routines are super fun and easy to keep up with, and the routines include her knowledge for ballroom as well as aerobics. She also seems super friendly, and has a lovely presence so this is one channel worth checking out.
Carly Rowena is a Norwich based personal trainer and working mum to one. Her husband is also one half of the The Lean Machine so fitness is in the family. Her videos on YouTube and Instagram cover lots of different subjects and include everything from sex and relationships to super handy exercise programs, FITT, strength, stretch and more. Most of her exercises and ideas fit into a busy mum lifestyle.
Day to day she draws on inspirational quotes, books and people as well as doing short Q and A’s. She also sells her own fitness cards (this also includes Pre/Post natal cards too) so that you can put your own routines together and in normal times she also puts runs retreats abroad for the fitness lover that loves to get away. She’s super knowledgable and always has an interesting view, and opinion and is a tower of strength, creativity and positivity. Just the kind of vibe that I gravitate towards. She also does vlogs in and around Norfolk, so it’s also nice to see familiar places on her vlog. She’s a cool fitness professional to follow so let me know your thoughts.
Popsugar Fitness is an American Youtube channel that I became aware of through Fleur De Force many years ago. She did a fashion and beauty video once a week for about 3 – 6 months and once I checked it out I realised that there was so much more on this channel, and fitness was something that really stood out for me. There really is a class on the Popsugar Fitness channel for everything, from some of the best instructors in aerobics and dance to barre, yoga, meditation and so much more.
There’s such a mixture of things, full of knowledgeable instructors and fun material that there’s something for everyone. The classes that I love the most are the barre and dancing work outs. Have a gander and let me know what you found.
Own your goals – Davina McCall
Davina McCall is an interesting person. She’s a qualified fitness professional, and is always ready to try something new out. Own your own goals is a platform that she started. You pay monthly to get access to the fitness material monthly, which includes loads of different instructors doing everything from classes of all kinds, nutrition and ideas for meals and snacks, wellbeing ideas, and chat boards for people wanting to share their goals and experiences and talk to other like minded people. She also has her own vlogging channel – officialDavinaMcCall that she set up really recently that has some behind the scenes material but also some of her short fitness workouts. I often start with one of these and then add it to an aerobics video for a switch up every so often. I love the ethos behind this channel and the Own your own goals channel, it’s fab. I also find Davina really upbeat, fun, positive and knowledgable that I always come away from watching her feeling the same so they’re both good platforms to check out.
Zumba Sulu – Great instructing
I came across Ayhan Sulu, better known as Zamba Sulu after doing a class with Gina B and her Up To The BEat fitness classes. I was in the mood for doing some more latin movement and this guys class fitted the bill. Zumba Sulu is seriously cool and also has an interesting style of instructing. If you’re a class instructor still learning then he’s a good one to watch and if you’re not, I find him easy to follow along with and he also has some really fun and enjoyable routines. The best bit is that he films his videos in super cool backgrounds, from amazing lush forests to his own lounge to stunning beaches and often has guests helping with the classes too.
If you’re checking. out these fitness channels, then maybe you would like to check out the sustainable fitness brands that I’ve been loving recently too. Let me know if you check any of these channels and what you thought in the comments below.
